Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 27, 2026
1. Introduction
SnapTipCalc ("we," "our," "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and what choices you have when using our website at snaptipcalc.com (the "Service").
2. Information We Collect
2.1. SnapTipCalc operates no servers that collect or store personal information about you. All tip calculations are performed entirely within your browser.
2.2. The site does, however, use third-party Google services — analytics (Section 2.3) and advertising (Section 4) — which process data about your visit:
2.3. Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data including:
- (a) Pages visited and time spent on site;
- (b) Browser type and device information;
- (c) Geographic region (country/city level);
- (d) Referral source.
This data is used solely to improve our website. We do not receive personally identifiable information from Google Analytics.
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
3.1. We use cookies to improve functionality and analyze website usage.
3.2. Google Analytics uses cookies to:
- (a) Distinguish unique users;
- (b) Track session information;
- (c) Understand user behavior patterns.
3.3. You may opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
3.4. Google AdSense may set advertising cookies or use similar browser storage when ads are served. These are described in Section 4 and in our Cookie Policy.
3.5. You may also disable cookies entirely through your browser settings.
4. Third-Party Services: Analytics and Advertising
4.1. This website uses Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage statistics, as described in Section 2.3.
4.2. Google AdSense. This website is funded by advertising and participates in Google AdSense. Google is a third-party vendor that serves the advertisements you see on this site. We do not sell advertising directly, and we do not upload any customer or visitor list to Google.
4.3. To serve and measure those advertisements, Google and its ad-technology partners may process:
- (a) Your IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- (b) Browser, operating system and device characteristics;
- (c) The page on which the ad request was made and the referring page;
- (d) Advertising identifiers stored in cookies or in your browser's local storage;
- (e) Interactions with the ad, such as views and clicks.
4.4. Google may use cookies or similar storage to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can review and change how Google personalises the ads you see at Google My Ad Center and opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
4.5. Where consent is legally required — for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — advertising and analytics storage is subject to the consent signal collected on this site. Ad serving behaviour (personalised, non-personalised or limited) follows that signal. If no consent signal has been given, advertising operates in Google's non-personalised or limited mode for those regions.
4.6. Details of the third-party vendors Google may use are published by Google at How Google uses cookies in advertising.
4.7. To learn more about how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps, please visit: Google Privacy & Terms
5. Data Storage
5.1. All calculations (bill amount, tip percentage, split amounts, etc.) are performed locally in your browser. We do not store, transmit, or have access to any calculation data.
6. CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act)
6.1. Under the CCPA, California residents have the right to:
- (a) Request disclosure of categories of data collected;
- (b) Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
6.2. SnapTipCalc does not sell personal information for money. Because the site serves Google AdSense advertising, personal information such as advertising identifiers may be treated as "shared" for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CPRA.
6.3. To opt out, disable ad personalisation at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on referenced in Section 3.3.
7. GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
7.1. Under the GDPR, users in the European Economic Area have rights to access, rectify, or erase their personal data. SnapTipCalc itself operates no database of personal data: your calculations are not transmitted to us.
7.2. Google Analytics and Google AdSense do process data about your visit. Where consent is required, analytics and advertising storage is governed by the consent signal collected on this site, and ads are served in Google's non-personalised or limited mode where no consent has been given.
7.3. Requests concerning data processed by Google should be directed to Google as the controller of that processing.
8. Children's Privacy
8.1. The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13.
8.2. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Effective Date." Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
